  1. Take the hot dish out of the oven once the butter has melted and turned nutty brown.
  2. Tilt the dish to coat the bottom and sides with the browned butter.
  3. Pour the excess butter from the dish into the batter and whisk it in.
  4. Pour the batter into the hot dish and return it to the oven right away.
  5. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the surface is blistered and browned and the center barely jiggles.
  6. Let the pancake rest for five minutes as it sinks and firms.
  7. Cut it into squares and serve with strawberry jam.
