  1. Heat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Push a whole clove into the point of each diamond across the surface of the ham.
  3. Set the ham cut side down in a roasting pan and pour the apple cider around it.
  4. Cover the pan tightly with foil and bake for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
  5. Remove the foil and raise the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  6. Brush a third of the glaze over the whole surface of the ham.
  7. Return it to the oven for 12 minutes.
  8. Brush on another third of the glaze and bake 12 minutes more.
  9. Apply the last of the glaze and bake a final 12 minutes, until the crust is dark and bubbling.
  10. Check the center with a thermometer, looking for 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
  11. Rest the ham for 20 minutes, then spoon the pan juices over the carved slices.
