  1. Heat the red palm oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the chicken pieces and brown on all sides, about 8 minutes.
  3. Add the onion and garlic to the pot and cook for 4 minutes, until softened.
  4. Add the tomatoes and chilies and cook for 5 minutes, until the tomatoes break down.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
  7. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
  8. Add the sweet potato and simmer for 10 more minutes.
  9. Add the okra and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes, until the sauce has thickened and the vegetables are tender.
  10. Season with salt before serving.
