Havana's late-night sandwich, roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese and pickles pressed inside soft egg bread until the outside turns crisp and the cheese runs, named for the hour it's traditionally eaten.

Ingredients
- 2 soft egg rolls or challah rolls, split
- 4 oz thinly sliced roast pork
- 4 oz thinly sliced ham
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 8 dill pickle slices
- 2 tbsp yellow mustard
- 2 tbsp softened butter
Before you cook
- Split each roll horizontally.
- Slice the pickles if not already sliced.
Steps
- Spread mustard evenly on the inside of the top half of each roll.
- Layer the roast pork on the bottom half of each roll.
- Layer the ham on top of the pork.
- Add 2 slices of Swiss cheese to each sandwich.
- Arrange the pickle slices over the cheese.
- Close the sandwiches with the top halves of the rolls.
- Spread softened butter on the outside of both sides of each sandwich.
- Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Place the sandwiches in the skillet and set a heavy pan or foil-wrapped brick on top to press them.
- Cook for 3 minutes, pressing down occasionally, until the bottom is golden.
- Flip the sandwiches and press again.
- Cook for 3 more minutes until golden and the cheese has melted.
- Slice each sandwich in half and serve hot.
