  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Cook the egg noodles in the boiling water according to package directions until just tender.
  3. Melt the butter in the microwave or a small saucepan.
  4. Drain the noodles and toss them with the melted butter.
  5. Whisk together the cottage cheese, sour cream, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl.
  6. Fold the buttered noodles and raisins into the egg mixture until evenly coated.
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it into an even layer.
  8. Sprinkle the cornflake crumbs and brown sugar evenly over the top.
  9. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the center is just set.
  10. Let the kugel cool for 15 minutes before cutting into squares.
