  1. Tip the grated potatoes into a strainer set over a bowl.
  2. Press down firmly to squeeze out as much liquid as possible, then discard the liquid.
  3. Transfer the pressed potatoes to a clean bowl.
  4. Pour the hot milk over the potatoes.
  5. Add the egg, flour, garlic, marjoram, and salt.
  6. Stir until the batter is evenly combined and semi-fluid.
  7. Heat a thin layer of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  8. Ladle a portion of batter into the pan and flatten it slightly into a round.
  9. Fry for 2-3 minutes until the edges turn golden and crisp.
  10. Flip and fry the other side for 2-3 minutes.
  11. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
  12. Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more oil as needed.
  13. Serve hot, on their own or alongside soup.
